Anyone up for some L4D this weekend?

Perhaps try and get 2 teams together to play versus mode on Saturday afternoon?

Fallout3 has decided to stop responding despite installing mods, fixes, and a complete uninstall and reinstall (the twat!) so I think I'll be pitted against the zombies most of the weekend. :)

I cant believe its still not working! D:

I've done everything I can think of to do! I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times.

Scoured the internet for fixes and tried everything that even vaguely sounds like its the same as my error. I've patched. I've downloaded mod's. I've updated drivers and rolled back drivers. I've stripped my startup to the wire so barely anything's running. I've even downloaded and installed software (Windows games live) so I can turn off a part of it that is rumoured may conflict with the game. Just in case.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that it may never work again, and have formulated an emergency plan:-

1.) loot my house for any ash trays, saucepans and boxes of detergent I can find. (Anything thats worth more than 4 times its weight is ok.)
2.) break into the gardeners shed, looting any cartons of cigarettes and conductors he has laying around.
3.) construct a bomb from various lawnmower blades, boxes of bottletops and fission batteries I find stored in there.
4.) wage war on world.

I think it may just work!

Whats the deal with hosted servers?

When the main servers were going up and down like the proverbial slappers pants, and we suggested hosting, the people we were playing with said all hosted servers lagged like shit.

Ah...When the lobby leader hosts then lag is quite likely as it's their PC acting as a server. By hosted servers I mean a dedicated server in a data centre. I host 4 Left4Dead servers on my dedi and they're used by the guys on OcUK most nights and there's been no complaints of lag. If you make use of them you're pretty much guaranteed to not have dodgy lag/dodgy players/etc. On the off chance some random gimp joins, I've got admin on there so they can be banned sharpish.

To make me feel better, can I occasionally come and fail at picking the lock on your flat. Or if you're available, knock on the door and engage you or charlotte in a meaningless conversation while you are looking into the distance over my shoulder?

I dont have it on my puter any more, i downloaded it to try it out, but didnt think it worth buying the full game as i'm shit playing with others.


But get the Dawn of war 2 demo off Steam and i'll come play you with that. :)

unfortunately my new PC has Vista on it, and the demo only has XP and 2000 listed. :(

!!! its not listed in the demo OS's, and I tried to install the arx fatalis demo earlier which just would not respond, and crashed Steam. So I assumed it wasn't compatible with Vista, and then noticed hardly anything mentioned vista!

I'm currently downloading the only "metascored" demo in the list which says it'll run on Vista, which is Bioshock.

Are you sure the demo works on Vista? I'm starting to worry that my ISP may start throttling my bandwidth, as I've downloaded several gigs worth of demo's and films in the last few days. D:

Dude, as said, i've been playing the demo on my vista laptop with no issues whatsoever, only thing you may need to do is lower the graphics settings a bit, they're a bit of a beast. ;)


I'm downloading season 4 o supernatural whilst at work, oopsy. :p

It's a multiplayer beta test actually. :p

Buuuut, you can host a custom game, then set all other players to computer opponents or team mates, which is nice for practice.

ok, beta downloaded and installed. :) The only problem is that it wont let me practice. I can only go straight into a multiplayer game! *cackle*

And as much as I love the game, and have spent the last 3 evenings trying to get it to work, I think that would be my line.

I think I'd rather spend the number of game hours I would have spend in Fallout3, fishing in WoW. ;p
